Lee Young is an Interactive Designer/DJ/Promoter based in the sunny seaside town of Bournemouth, on the south coast. He has just graduated BA Interactive Media Production at Bournemouth University, a national center of media excellence. During his time at Bournemouth University Lee specialised in HTML website construction and Flash animation, before moving on to Interactive Installation work. His Final Major Project was an original, tactile interactive installation titled 'The Light Fantastic'. The basis of the work was to create a standalone piece of interactive installation which would appeal to a wide range of people. 'The Light Fantastic' allows the user to control and loop various audio samples through a unique light-based interface. The installation was a great success at both the Bournemouth and London legs of 'Pixel Pier', the Bournemouth University Interactive Media Production Graduation Showcase, attracting interest from HMC Interactive, and earning a place at the Collect 4 art exhibition in London this October. |

Other than his degree, Lee's interests include playing guitar, Cinema, DJ'ing, and promoting local club nights. Over the course of the last few years, Lee has DJ'd at several UK festivals, including Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party, Electric Picnic, Sunrise Celebration and Gocstock, to name but a few, as well as being involved with and hosting a range of local and national events, from his own night, 'Ear-Wax' in both Bournemouth and Bristol, to participating in events such as 'The Fire Festival' and many events with 'Fish Seeks Bicycle'. The next step in Lee's masterplan is to look for more permanent full -time employment in Bournemouth, while continuing with his freelance website and installation work, including a number of exciting large scale pieces for next year's festival season. He also hopes to develop his musical and DJ interests and to try and stop talking about himself in the third person..... |
